W <br />The primary purpose of this Site Health and Safety Plan is to <br />provide Aronson Engineering field personnel and Pacific Bell <br />field personnel with an understanding of the potential <br />chemical and physical hazards that exist or may arise while <br />the tasks of this underground gasoline storage tank removal <br />project are being performed. Secondarily, this information <br />defines the safety precautions necessary to respond to such <br />hazards. <br />A copy of this site health and safety plan will be on site at <br />all times® An additional copy will be kept and transported <br />along with any injured worker to the medical facility for use <br />by medical staff. <br />b. Objective <br />The objective of this health and safety plan is to ensure <br />the safety of all field personnel, and the surrounding <br />community. Accordingly, all personnel assigned to this <br />project will read and sign the acknowledgement statement at <br />the end of this plan, to certify that they have read, <br />understand and will abide by the health and safety plan. <br />A tailgate meeting will be conducted by the job <br />superintendent/site safety officer® No work will be <br />performed before this meeting has taken place® The tailgate <br />meeting will be conducted prior to each days <br />activities to review the following: <br />- location of the health and safety supplies on-site <br />- location of nearby telephones <br />® emergency procedures <br />- review procedures for working around heavy equipment <br />® establish exclusion zone <br />Any personnel who may need to enter an exclusion or <br />contamination zone must have completed an OSHA 40 hour <br />hazardous waste operations training® All visitors must <br />check in with the site safety officer. <br />IM <br />
