HEALTH .. SAFETY
The purpose of this Health and Safety Plan (HASP) is to define on-site health and safety roles, health
and safety procedures, and discuss chemical and physical hazards, and electrical safety issues which
may be encountered at the project.
The elements of the HASP include procedures for personnel protection equipment safety, medical
surveillance, air quality monitoring, and general safe work practices. This plan also details the proper
emergency procedures, including emergency response and first-aid capabilities. Compliance with this
HASP is required of all workers and third parties who enter the sites while the above work is in
progress.
Tait clients may suggest or require adherence to their company HASP. Tait employees shall adhere
to the more stringent procedures in either case or the required procedures by Cal/OSHA or other
Federal mandated safety orders.
The scope of work for this project includes: Replacing the existing discriminating sensors to non-
discriminating sensors at various sites. Scheduling a inspection with San Joaquin DEH and certifying
the new sensors.
It is important to protect the surrounding environment as it exists around the work area involved. All
trees, plants, and shrubs close to the work area will be barricaded if necessary to reduce the risk of
damage from construction debris and equipment. All efforts will be made to insure protection of
natural resources within the boundaries of the project and within the work area. All demolition and
excavation will be limited to the enclosed work area.
Dust control measures, in the form of water spray, will be used to prevent dust migration from the
excavation site. This is a generally accepted procedure by all Governing Agencies.
Generated hazardous waste will be handled and disposed of in Compliance with the following; 40 CFR
260, 40 CFR 261, 40 CFR 262, 40 CFR 263, CFR 1910, Title 22 Division 4, Title 23, Cal OSHA, and Cal
Haz-Mat Enforcement and Liability.
; •
MEW
)1 1111 $] 1111•
11/07/2005 revision 5 2
