Attached is the Elite 4 work
order for the annular space sensor (409) replacement.
As we discussed the violation as written is for an unmonitored tank, which I don't believe
is representative of the situation. The annular space sensor was functioning properly
until it was removed for annual certification. The wiring failed and the sensor would not
allow the pump to operate. The technician fixed the wiring and the sensor worked as
designed. The sensor was reinstalled and at no time was the tank unmonitored, except
during the time it would have been unmonitored for the annual certification. I understand
the necessity to replace the sensor, as the junction (repair) cannot be outside of the
junction box. This has been completed as noted in the above return to compliance
certification. For the record the tank was not unmonitored as noted in the violation.
Thanks for your help. If anything else is needed, please let me know
Very truly yours,
L White
V.P. Chief Pilot
Encl.
