Tait Environmental Systems has
b asked to perform additional repairs to components that failed the previous SB -989 testing. The Failed
comp nts we have been asked to repair are as follows- Dispenser pans 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and the 89 -turbine
sump- J from the information I have gather from the testing technicians and previous repair crew I
have formu d the following scope of work. Prior to any work all -electrical to the dispensers and turbine
sumps will be t down by our electrician who will remain on site for the duration of repairs to
troubleshoot any lems that may arise during the repairs. Each one of the dispensers will be removed to
gain access to the dis ser pans so each one of the penetrations in the dispenser pans can be removed and
replaced with a Blueline split UL approved penetration fitting. To do so we will remove the shear
valves and install a tempor cap on the end of the flex hose during repairs to prevent any potential
spillage and vapor leaks in the ' penser pans. Upon installation of the penetrations we will also install
secondary reducer test boots on a e secondary to primary piping in the dispenser pans pre-test each
component and reinstall the dispens After all work has been performed in the dispenser pans the repair
crew will commence work in the 89 tur sump they will thoroughly clean and prep the sump to collar
connection and apply a layer of fiberglass ' g around the collar seam to remedy the potential leak
point. The tank is a manufactured by Owens Co ' they recommend if the tank itself in the sump is to be
repaired or modified in any fashion it must be done ertified party. Due to the scope of work we are
performing we will be glassing the sump to collar an IC ller/retro-fit certified installer may perform
the repairs.
I have enclosed various cut sheets for the components we will be install s well as the various required
certifications of the repair crew. We anticipate these repairs to be completed n a one week period and
will be performed under direct contact with either yourself or another designate ncy representative.
Thank you,
Tait Envonmenta ystems
CA Lic #588098 - AZ Lic #095984 • NV Lic #0049666
1863 North Neville Street - Orange, California 92865 • 714.560.8222 - 714.685.0006 Fax
11280 Trade Center Drive - Rancho Cordova, California 95742 - 916.858.1090 - 916.858.1011 Fax
www.SB989.com
