F
September 11, 2013
Thuy Tran
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205-6232
FAMY CONSTRUCTION CO. 411 N. Buchanan Circle #2
INC Pacheco, CA 94553
T 925-674-8800
F 925-674.8801
fohyconstruction@yahoo.com
Subject: Tracy Valero, 2375 N. Tracy Blvd, Tracy, CA
As a result of the ELD testing at the above referenced site, and my discussions with the ELD tester,
Sergio Nunez, concerning the results, we have developed a work plan for the additional work to be
performed at the site upon your approval:
1. Sawcut, jackhammer, and remove concrete around the 89 and 91 tank fill, vapor, and tank gauge
risers. Excavated concrete to be removed and disposed. Excavate to tank top and expose risers
and the bungs of the tank. Excavated pea gravel to be stockpiled and re -used as backfill.
2. Risers to be inspected, removed, cleaned, and re -installed with new pipe dope.
3. Excavations and open sump areas to be barricaded and/or flagged for safety purposes. Excava-
tions to remain open until next ELD test to assure access for inspection and test. Since the testing
agency can only give an approximate area to be inspected, all newly opened fittings and pipe to be
inspected for any leaks.
4. In addition, 89 tank turbine head to be removed, new seals installed, and vapor poppet valve to be
replaced with new.
5. For the 87 tank, extractor riser on piping sump extractor to be removed, inspected, and re -installed.
In addition, all tank riser caps and adaptors to be inspected, removed, replaced if necessary, and
re -installed prior to next test.
6. Contractor to be present for next ELD test for any additional minor repairs during pre-test.
7_ After completion of the next passing test, excavations to be backfilled and surfaces restored with
reinforced concrete, approximately 60 square feet.
8. Problem areas have been identified in test results and painted on site for these repairs. However,
additional problem areas may be found during this work. These areas will be identified and re-
paired as necessary.
John Fahy
Fahy Construction Company, Inc.
