FREMONT, CA 94538
January 15, 1988
Mr. Dan Moe, R.S.
Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin Local Health District
PO Box 2009
Stockton, Ca. 95201
Re: Quik Stop Market #144 r `
7272 West Lane YsTi
Stockton, Ca.
Dear Mr. Moe:
In response to your questions regarding the procedures for filling tanks,
and the testing of "Leak Alert" equipment at the above location, I submit
the following responses:
1. Filling Procedures
When gasoline is to be delivered to the market location, the
driver of the truck will "stick" the tank to obtain current level of
inventory and then check the tank size to determine whether the fuel
he is to drop will fit or not. All delivery companies have been supplied
with tank size information for each one of our locations in order to pre-
vent any overfills. After determining that the fuel to be dropped will
safely fit in the tank, the driver will visually monitor his drop until
completed.
2. Testing of "Leak Alert" Equipment
The 6 probes for the "Leak Alert" monitor will be tested twice
yearly by a qualified service company. The probes will be physically
removed from the piping sumps and annular space and tested with gasoline
to determine whether they are working properly.
I hope this information will clarify any questions regarding this instal-
lation. I will also send you a copy of our "Hazardous Materials Response
Plan" which I am preparing for the County Office of Emergency Services,
when completed, for any information you may require regarding the
mitigation of any unauthorized spills or leaks at this location.
