Product in this tank is unleaded gasoline . The
plug in the leak detector, fitting was removed and all fluid in
the pipe system; pumped out . The plug was reinstalled and sealed.
The test plug in the impact valve (under the unleaded dispenser )
was removed and fittings installed to accept a pressure guage and
Helium supply line fitting. The cap on the tape guar
e riser (on
the tank:) was removed to vent the tank. . Helium was injected into
the tank with the regulator set at 2 psi . The pipe sy=_•tem did
pressurize rapidly. The supply was cut off and a slight decay in
pressure was observed. The Helium supply was turned back on and
allowed to sustain the 2 psi setting. The tank opening was
tested for the presence of Helium with none detected. The check
valve was determined to be sealing the pipe system off from the
tank . Since the check valve was holding pressure , it was decided
that the Helium pressure could be increased . The regulator was
adjusted to 5 psi . During this time , the Helium detector was
being used to survey the area for any leaking Helium. Mone was
found during repeated tests at various locations. Helium still
was not detected in the tank ( indicating the check valve still
