page two
I
The Building 801 system, 801-R2U1, is out-of-service. The piping was
repaired and the system was retested and shown to be leak tight.
But, the tank was punctured by an auger that was being used to take
samples as part of the repair and cleanup activities. The puncture
resulted in a release of wastewater into fill material.
Investigation is underway that will determine if removal of fill is
needed, and if the tank can be repaired and put back into service.
The Precision Tests reported in the above tables were performed with
Leak Computer test equipment. The operator of the Precision Test and
helium injection/detection equipment was Gary Peters of Rancho
Cordova.
Future tests will be reported within thirty days of their completion.
If you have any questions, please call Connie DeGrange at 422-5167.
I
Sincerely,
Ri C.
