Box 2009 <br /> Stockton,CA 95201 <br /> Subject: Submittal of Results of Analyses of Soil Samples for 829-D1U1 and <br /> 865-D1U1 Closure Sites <br /> Dear Mr. Snavely: <br /> As promised at the time of your November 15, 1994,telephone discussion with <br /> Richard Henry of my staff,enclosed are the results of analyses of soil samples <br /> collected at the 829-D1U1 and 865-D1U1 closure sites on October 20 &28, 1994. <br /> The soil samples collected at the 829-D1U1 closure site: Sample TK01-829-01- <br /> D1U1-SO-3.5 was collected at a depth of 3.5 feet below the former location of the <br /> underground piping. Results of EPA Method 8015 (TPH-D- diesel fuel) and <br /> EPA Method 8020 (BTXE -benzene, toluene,xylene, and ethylbenzene) analyses <br /> for this sample were ND (not detected) for all analytes. Sample TK02-829-01- <br /> D1U1-SO-11.0 was collected at a depth of 11.0 feet in the bottom of the <br /> excavation to remove the tank. This sample showed 1600 mg/kg TPH-D, 0.029 <br /> mg/kg ethylbenzene, and .076 mg/kg xylene. Sample TK03-829-01-D1U1-SO- <br /> SP97 was a composite sample collected from the pile of excavated materials. This <br /> sample showed 6200 mg/kg TPH-D, 0.048 mg/kg benzene, 0.099 mg/kg <br /> chlorobenzene, 0.77 mg/kg ethylbenzene, 0.018 mg/kg toluene, and 2.0 mg/kg <br /> xylene. <br /> The soil samples collected at the 865-D1U1 closure site: Samples TS02-865-01- <br /> D1U1-SO-SP95,TK02-865-01-D1U1-SO-SP96, TK03-865-01-D1U1-SO-SP96, and <br /> TK04-865-01-D1U1-SO-SP96, are composited soil samples collected from the <br /> excavated materials on October 20, 1994. The results of analyses of these samples <br /> showed TPH-D results ranging from 2.2 mg/kg to 54 mg/kg, and ND for BTXE <br /> values.
