3. When the contaminants have been removed from the <br /> equipment, take the equipment to a rinse area for final rinsing. <br /> All cleaning water and rinsate must also be contained. From <br /> the decontamination zone, place the equipment in the support <br /> zone for pick up by support zone workers. <br /> Contaminated cleaning and rinsewater will be contained in sealed, <br /> labeled drums and stored in a secured area adjacent to the exclusion <br /> zone. At the end of all decontamination activities, the cleaning and <br /> rinsewater will be characterized for disposal by LLNL's Hazardous <br /> Waste Management (HWM). The method of disposal for the cleaning <br /> and rinsewater will depend upon the analytical results. LLNL will <br /> dispose of the cleaning and rinsewater at the proper facility. <br /> Personal Decontamination <br /> All contaminated PPE that can not be adequately cleaned for disposal <br /> as non-hazardous waste, will be contained in designated receptacles <br /> and stored in the secured area, pending disposal by LLNL HWM at the <br /> proper facility. <br /> Support Zone <br /> This zone is used for the storage of sampling equipment and <br /> supplies. Workers should don PPE in this zone prior to entering the <br /> decontamination and exclusion zones. <br /> D-13 <br />
