Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, Ca 95201 <br /> Subject: Underground Storage Tank Unauthorized (Leak)/ <br /> Contamination Site Report, Tank 871-D1U1 at Building 871 <br /> Attached is an Underground Storage Tank Unauthorized Release (Leak)/ <br /> Contamination Site Report for tank system 871-D1U1 at Lawrence Livermore <br /> National Laboratory Site 300. <br /> Underground storage tank 871-D1U1 at Building 871 was a 2000 gallon single-wall <br /> carbon steel tank that supplied diesel fuel to the Building 871 boiler. <br /> On July 26, 1994, the tank system was closed and the tank was removed from the <br /> ground. The smell of diesel fuel was noted in the excavation in the excavated <br /> materials. <br /> Soil samples were collected within the excavation and from the soil removed from <br /> the excavation and submitted for analyses of diesel fuel (TPH-D) and BTXE.
