879-G3U1 annual line leak test Page 1 of 1
Steven Shih [EH]
From: Shari Brigdon [brigdonl@llnl.gov]
Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 3:13 PM
To: Steven Shih [EH]
Cc: morales4@llnl.gov; hoppes1 @Ilnl.gov; schwartz5@llnl.gov; folksl @Ilnl.gov; chase9@llnl.gov; Vijay K. Mishra
Subject: 879-G31.11 annual line leak test
Steven,
The annual line tightness test for 879-G3Ul, required by 23 CCR 2636 (f)(4), is scheduled for Monday,
December 8, 2003. LLNL has made arrangements for Afford -A -Test to conduct the test, which will begin
between 9 - 9:30 AM. Test duration is expected to be approximately 3.5 hours. Test results will be forwarded
to you upon completion.
This email is to confirm our phone conversation on 12/1/03 that you do not need to witness this test.
Regarding the line leak detector test, the purchase order has been approved and the contractor, DCM Inc., has
been contacted to schedule a date. LLNL is waiting to hear back from DCM for scheduling. YI will notify you
of the test date as soon as I know it. During the 12/1/03 conversation you stated that if no problems are found
with the Red Jacket line leak detector, you do not need to come out. However, if a problem is found, you wish
to be notified. If the Red Jacket needs to be repaired or replaced, a permit is required from your office prior to
the work being done. You also confirmed that you have not yet heard back from the State Water Resources
Control Board regarding acceptability of the leak detector test method used by Brian Thornton of Thornton &
Sons.
If you have any questions, please call me at (925) 423-7665.
Shari Brigdon
Environmental Protection Department
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
PO Box 808, L-627
Livermore, CA 94551
Phone: 925-423-7665
Fax: 925-422-2748
email: brigdonl@llnl.gov
12/1/2003
