Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Mr. Wilson:
Enclosed is an "Application for Permit" to close the 801-R2U1 underground
tank at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Site 300. Included is
check #001912 in the amount of $90 to cover the fees associated with closure
of the tank system. As we are prepared to begin closure activities on
October 20, your expeditious review and approval is requested.
If analyses from the soil samples taken during closure activities indicate
the presence of soil contamination, remediation plans will be submitted at
that time under separate cover. In addition, the plans for a replacement
retention system will be submitted in the future.
As part of the "Application for Permit" we have provided a summary of events
leading to the decision to close the 801-R2U1 tank system.
