TANK 614-D1 U1 CLOSURE <br /> Scope of Work• <br /> 1. Empty any liquid from the tank and lines, if applicable,with approved recycler. <br /> 2. Provide venting of fumes from the tank and lines, prevent static discharge. <br /> 3. Remove concrete and excavate overburden stockpile per LLNL Field Inspector. <br /> Do not dispose of overburden. <br /> 4. Disconnect the fill spout, supply return, vent and any other pipelines from the <br /> tank. <br /> 5. Remove and cap pipe lines. NOTE: The tank venting must be maintained. Drill <br /> a 1/8"hold in one cap on the tank. <br /> 6. Unbolt tank from concrete pad (if applicable). <br /> 7. Lift and remove the tank. The tank shall be scrapped by a certified scrapper. <br /> 8. Remove the concrete pad below the tank (if applicable). <br /> 9. Test for contamination per the Closure Plan LLNL to provide approval and <br /> location for soil. <br /> 10. Backfill with excavated or engineered/select soil, compact in 8"layers at <br /> 95% relative compaction. <br /> 11. Finished surface to match existing. <br /> 12. Protect all existing structures and utilities against damage during construction. <br /> Repair or replace all damaged structures, utilities and landscaping. <br /> General Notes: <br /> A. Construction personnel shall follow all appropriate safety rules and regulations as <br /> associated with work on fuel tank systems. See the "Closure Plan"and <br /> reference API 1604"Removal of Petroleum UST". All required procedures and <br /> regulatory requirements for tank closure shall be followed and coordinated with <br /> the Tank Assessments and Guidance Group(TAGG) of the Environmental <br /> Protection Department. <br /> B. Method of construction will be by Plant Engineering- "Shops". <br /> C.
