We hope these documents will satisfy your needs, and allow you to approve
our closure plan requests. LLNL has already removed a number of tanks at
the Livermore Site using in-house personnel. To ensure compliance with
the latest practices, the following key personnel of our underground tank
closure team recently completed a two-day class in tank closures sponsored by
The California Water Resources Control Board and the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency: the Construction Manager, the Foreman and Safety
Officer, and the Construction Inspector. Two years ago the Project Manager
also received this training. These Plant Engineering people work within a
structure of environmental and safety procedures supported by highly trained
and knowledgeable environmental, construction safety, and industrial safety
people of the LLNL Environmental Protection and Hazards Control
Departments.
If you have any questions or wish additional information, please feel free to
call Rick Henry, (510) 423-3641.
Sincerely,
C.
