These values
have been checked and determined to be actual constituents of the soil
samples. Assuming that these soils have unique origins, these findings
suggest a common point of contamination.
CLS has extensively reviewed these results and investigated the possibility of
laboratory contamination. Our sample handling protocols have been examined
and personnel interviewed and re-instructed regarding this protocol. To date
no evidence has been found which would support this possibility.
The other most likely contamination points would be at sampling time,
transport to storage or during storage, prior to CLS pick-up. All areas into
which samples are introduced should be examined for the presence of Methylene
Chloride containing materials such as cleaners, paint strippers and
degreasers.
Elevated method 8020 reporting limits for sample "TK05-01-827-D1U1-SP-SO"
are due to the presence of interfering hydrocarbons in this sample.
Although a number of samples were found to contain compounds in the retention
time range generally associated with diesel fuel as well as heavier
hydrocarbons, the chromatograms for these samples were not consistent with the
expected chromatographic pattern or "fingerprint" . However, the reported
concentrations are based on diesel #2 calibration.
REMLO PAM 3249 Fitzgerald Road Rancho Cordova,CA 95742 (916)638-7301 Fax(916)638-4510
