The calculations were done for <br />a 10 -foot diameter 20,000 -gallon double wall tank and a 10 -foot diameter 10,00/10,000 -gallon <br />double wall compartment tank shown in the attached tank drawings. Total cover of the tank tops <br />is 72 -inches that includes a 9 -inch traffic pad, no mechanical anchors, and ground water at the <br />top of an empty tank. The results show that the factor of safety against floatout is 1.77 for the <br />single tank, and 1.67 for the compartment tank, and both are greater than the minimum 1.20 <br />recommended by Containment Solutions. <br />Mr. Clark reviewed the calculations using both the published PEI procedure of Recommended <br />Practices for Installation of Underground Liquid Storage Systems, and a separate program that he <br />developed and uses for similar installations. His efforts indicated that the calculations using the <br />Containment Solutions computer program provided the most conservative of the results that he <br />reviewed. <br />You provided a purchase order #20-008 for a maximum $1000.00 to cover the work done by <br />Clark Engineers.
