The `96 LD -2000 is the newest generation of the most advanced system of
mechanical line leak detectors available. For 1996, the LD -2000 becomes even
more versatile. One leak detector for virtually any submersible pump, fuel, or line!
A patented, internal, free-floating check valve positioned at the downstream end of
the leak detector protects the leak detector against damage caused by hydraulic
hammer (a rebounding pressure wave formed when the dispenser nozzle is
closed). The check valve also maintain line pressure, sufficient to allow dispensa-
tion of fuel immediately, providing that the downstream dispensing line has no
leak.
• One leak detector for any fuel: gasoline, diesel, alcohol
• For any pipe/fine system up to 250 ml. bleed back
• One leak detector for Red Jacket, FE Petro, or Tokheim submersible pumps
• Lowest profile leak detector available for those tight locations
• Maintains pressure in the delivery fine when no leak is present
• Detects leaks even if substantial hydrostatic shock occurs in the dispensing
line
• Reduces unscheduled pump maintenance due to check valve deterioration or
functional element deterioration
• Provides improved performance under extreme climactic conditions
• Best performance warranty in the industry, 3 GPH at 10 psi for 24 months
after date of installation
• Overcomes problems caused by thermal contraction and fine resiliency in
larger delivery systems
• The `96 LD -2000 exceeds the EPA regulations that require detection of a 3
GPH leak at 10 psi. Under conditions of thermal expansion or contraction,
the `96 LD -2000 is capable of detecting a 3 GPH leak with a probability of
detection of 100% and a false alarm probability of 0%.
• Under neutral test conditions, the `96 LD -2000 detected leaks under 2 GPH.
• From pump start-up, the average leak sensing time to full flow was less than
5 seconds for pipe lines with up to 250 ml bleed back.
• The `96 LD -2000 detected leaks in the pipe system up to 10' above the leak
detector. This test, called a "Head Pressure Reset Test," ensures that all
buried pipe is protected.
• Compatible with
...100% gasoline, methanol, and ethanol
...Any combination of the above
...100% diesel
...Up to 15% MTBE
...Kerosene/jet AQP 4
• Use with any line/pipe system up to 250 ml
bleed back
• For use with any UL listed pumps: X h.p., X h.p.,
and 1 X h.p — 20-50 psi, volume to 90 GPM
• Certified to handle 10+ feet of head pressure
• Combination line check/pressure relief, prevents
drainback into the tank
• Hardened 17-4 stainless steel metering pin
and poppet
• Unique upper cylinder piston functions without
a pressure relief
• Tamper -proof bolts accommodate wire seal
to prevent tampering
• For installation in any submersible pump with
a 2 inch NPT port, or a 2 inch leak
detector adaptor tee
• Leak detector is nickel -plated, schedule 40
cast iron construction
• MIL Spec. #R-83248 Fleurocarbon O-ring
• UL listed and certified to meet EPA
GPH @ 10 psi performance specifications
online systems up to 130 gallons
• Vent line must be unobstructed, leak -proof,
and connected to an atmospheric port
(e.g. tank head space)
• For a complete list of materials and
other specifications, please contact VMI.
• Can be installed in any position
Warran"ityati
toThe `96 LD -2000 mechanism is fully guaranteed to see a leak of 3 GPH @ 10 psi
for a period of 24 months after date of installation. Warranty card and
installation instructions included in packaging.
