Approximately 156 cubic
yards of contaminated soil was removed and soil samples were collected on May 18, 1993. The remaining soil
contamination was characterized using information obtained during the drilling and sampling of five soil borings on July 19,
1995.
IV. Additional Comments, Data, etc.
Robert Job, California Registered Professional Engineer, Civil#51592 stated in the Condor Earth Technologies' report dated
July 2, 1996 and May 23, 1996 that the remaining soil contamination would impact groundwater should the affected area not
be paved to decrease infiltration of water. He stated that upon completion of the site paving, he would request that the site
be closed. He based his conclusions and recommendations on site data and SESOIL modeling. In the Condor report dated
August 16, 1995, he stated that approximately 3 cubic yards of contaminated soil remained from approximately 6 to 11 feet
beneath the south end of the concrete canopy foundation which was inaccessible at the time of the excavation attempt.
This document and the related CASE CLOSURE LETTER, Shall be retained by the lead agency as part of the official
site file.
