' Idletivild Market - O.E.S.
June 21, 1993
-8-
Page -8-
depth of approximately 11 feet below the ground surface. No
petroleum staining or odors were noted on the remaining sidewalls
or floor of Pit 1 or Pit 2 . No TPH-G, BTEX, EDB or total lead
' were detected in the remaining soil samples collected from Pit 1
or Pit 2 .
1,
Based upon the field observations and laboratory results,
' Condor recommends that at least 3 to 5 feet of soil be removed
' from the north sidewall of Pit 1. Due to the proximity of the
pump island and concrete driveway, removal of the existing
surface structures will probably need to be done prior to the
over-excavation. Visual inspection for evidence of soil staining
and field screening using an organic vapor analyzer - OVA should
' be conducted during the excavation to assist in evaluating the
extent of the contaminated soil . Following the excavation,
' verification soil samples should be collected as required by the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The samples
' should be analyzed for TPH--G and BTEX. Disposal options for the
excavated soil (e.g. , air stripping, bioremediation, land
disposal, etc. ) should be investigated.
No additional work is warranted at Pit 2 . The former
location of the 50 gallon tank (T4/Pit 2 ) should be backfilled
ICONDOR
