The soil samples were collected by <br /> driving a clean brass sleeve into freshly exposed soil brought to <br />' the surface in a backhoe bucket. See Table 3 below and Figure 3 <br /> in Appendix A for sample I. 's SPI - SP4) . The <br />' samples were collected directly from the stockpile in clean brass <br /> tubes at a depth of approximately 8 inches . Following the over- <br /> excavation, the site was surrounded with temporary chain link fencing. <br />' 4.0 LABORATORY ANALYSES <br />' The soil samples collected beneath the tanks (T1 - T4) and from <br /> the over-excavation of Pit 1 were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethyl <br />' benzene, and total xylene (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020, for total <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbons, quantified as gasoline (TPH-G) by Method <br /> 5030/LUFT, for total lead by Method 7420, and for ethylene dibromide <br />' CONDOR <br />
