Chaney, Walton & MCCall [LLCy
t
features such as stormwater conveyance systems, monitoring wells and other man-made
features. If necessary, locations for monitoring wells and the Victor Well No.2 will be
re-established by land survey.
Geology/Hydrogeology
As described in the Tenera Associates monitoring well installation report dated
September 20, 1993,the subsurface hydrogeologic framework consists of medium dense,
fine-grained silty sands, which are underlain by dense, medium-grained clayey sands and
gravely sands. These deposits were encountered to the maximum depth of 80 feet below
grade. Based on groundwater level measurements in the on-site monitoring wells,
shallow groundwater typically occurs at depths ranging from 60 to 70 feet below the
wellhead measuring point.
PREVIOUS SITE ASSESSMENTS
In July 1999, a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment was prepared for the WiIdRose
Vineyards company, the new owners of the former Dole property. The CW&M Report
entitled "Support of Site Closure", addressed the former UST at VFO.
PROPOSED FIELD INVESTIGATION
The field investigation tasks proposed for the former VFO UST Site include the planning
for and installation of two shallow soil borings. The placements of these borings are
intended to assist in confirming the absence of elevated MTBE in onsite soils, at the
former UST location.
Prepare and Conduct Pre-Field Plans and Activities
A required Health and Safety Plan will be prepared to safely conduct field-drilling activities
planned for this Site Assessment. Based on an evaluation of the previous UST removal
activities, two locations are proposed for the installation of shallow soil borings. The
proposed locations will be established in the immediate vicinity of the former UST,which is
approximately located on Figure 2 of this Work Plan.
5
DF100101.5JCPH.wkp.011800 4 530.758.8128 W
rccgroup@earthlink.net
