Site Assessment Work Plan-Site Code No.1616
Former Dole Fresh Fruit-Victor Fruit Operations,
8751 East Highway 12,Victor,California
Dear Ms Heram
TWs Work Plan is being submitted by Chaney, Walton&McCall(LLC)(CW&M)on
behalf of the Dole Fresh Fruit Company(Dole),in response to a December 15, 1999
letter from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health
Diti-ision("Comity„or`THSfEHD`")to bole, the former owner of Victor Fruit Operations
(VFO).
The forriber Dole facilities are located at 8751 East Highway 12,in Victor, California(the
"Site"). (Refer to PHSIEHD files for Site Cade No.1616). An underground storage tank
(UST)was removed from the VFO Site on Novemher 12, 1991_ This Site Assessment
Work Plan addressed the PHSfE14D's request for additional'investigation of Site
conditions at the forrwr UST location. The Work Plan was prepared in accordance with
the requirements for a Site Assessment Work Plan set forth by the Central Valley office
of-the Regional Water Quality Control Board(RWQCB) [RWQCB Tri-Regional
Guidelines Appendices A and B, 1994).
CW&M submitted a report,on behalf of Dole,entitled"Support for Site Closure",and
dated October 15, 1999(the Report"). The Report documented the basis for Site closure
for the former 550-gallon.capacity UST. The required soil sample collected from the
excavation in 1941 contained trace concentrations of the constituents of concern;
however, none of the constituents were found above the County's maximum allowable
concentrations. Analytical laboratory testing on the collected soil samples included total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg),and the gasoline constituents benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene(BTEX.
The objective of the Site Aswrvgment described in the attached Work Plan is to further
investigate the location of the former LIST, collect representative soil samples and
analyzed those samples for MTBE,as well as TPHg and BTEX compounds. The
investigation findings will be presented as an Addendum to the October 15 Report.
530.758.9128 vlf
rCcgMUP@MnhEnkr0
Z 'd I3iSSSLDES •dJ03 HWDS / dnois 33,b dEE rbD Do *0 UeC
