Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc . -.0-
02 February 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 00-0697
Mr. Mike Infurna
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Request For Temporary Suspension of Quarterly Ground Water Monitoring
TERMINOUS MARKET
13889 West Highway 12,Lodi, California
Dear Mr. Infurna:
On behalf of Mr. Charlie Jacobs,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared this letter
to request a temporary suspension of quarterly ground water monitoring at wells MW-1 through
MW-6 at Terminous Market, 13889 West Highway 12, Lodi, California(site).
As you are aware, costs associated with the cleanup effort at the site are presently reimbursed by the
California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) under the Underground Storage Tank
(UST)Cleanup Fund. However,Charlie Jacobs was recently notified by the UST Cleanup Fund that
future reimbursements by the State would be delayed as much as 6 to 18 months. Due to the
significant cost of monitoring at the site, Charlie Jacobs has accrued over $40,000 of monitoring
expenses that has not been reimbursed by the UST Cleanup Fund.
The accrued costs for the quarterly ground water monitoring have caused a great financial hardship
on Charlie Jacobs.Furthermore, based on the current conditions at the state,it is unlikely that Charlie
Jacobs will receive any type of reimbursement from the UST Cleanup Fund before July of 2009.
The Terminous Market does not have the financial capabilities to continue quarterly ground water
monitoring activities until Charlie Jacobs can receive reimbursement from the UST Cleanup Fund
(i.e. $40,000). Therefore, AGE is requesting a temporary suspension of quarterly ground water
monitoring activities at the site until the most recent reimbursement request is received by Charlie
Jacobs, effective 01 February 2009.
Your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated and is vital to the continued success
of this ground water monitoring effort.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office at(209)467-1006.
837 Shaw Road, Stockton,California 95215
Telephone (209)467-1006 Fax (209) 467-1118 „y
