' Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> Terminous Market <br />' 13889 West Highway 12, Lodi, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br />' In accordance with the request of Mr Charles Jacobs of Terminous Market, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER) for a former Ust facility at 13889 west Highway 12 (the site), Lodi, California The scope of <br />' work included advancement of four soil probe borings and collection and analysis of soil and ground <br /> water samples The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1, major <br /> features on the site and soil probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br />' This investigation was performed in accordance with guidelines of the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and of the Central Valley Regional <br /> IWater Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br />' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> • In April 1988, two USTs were removed from the site by the property owner, Mr Charles Jacobs <br /> Based on field observations and analytical results of soil samples collected during the tank removals, <br /> the PHS-EHD directed that a subsurface investigation be performed at the site to delineate the <br /> vertical and horizontal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impact to soil In accordance with PHS- <br /> rEHD directives, procedures for a subsurface investigation were presented in the AGE-prepared Site <br /> Investigation Work Plan, dated 28 February 2000 and approved by the PHS-EHD by letter dated 09 <br /> IMarch 2000 <br /> I21 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The property is currently utilized as the Terminous Market The site is occupied by a one-story <br /> market, a residential dwelling, and a tool shed The site is bordered on the west by the Mokelumne <br /> River, and by agricultural property north, south and east of the site The facility formerly operated <br /> two fuel USTs and fuel dispensers The former USTs consisted of one 550-gallon unleaded gasoline <br /> Itank and one 550-gallon leaded gasoline tank <br /> 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> On 27 April 1988,two 550-gallon gasoline USTs,were removed from the site by the property owner, <br /> Mr Charles Jacobs The approximate locations of the former USTs are shown on Figure 2 <br /> • Soil samples were collected at a depth of four feet below surface grade (bsg), and were analyzed for <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
