17 April 2000
AGE-NC Project No 00-0696
No fuel oxygenated compounds were detected by the laboratory analysis of the ground water sample-
Analytical
ampleAnalytical results of ground water samples are summarized in Tables 1 & 2 The laboratory report
(Alpha Analytical Inc Lab order number A00032311) and chain-of-custody are included in
Appendix B
5.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon data collected on 22 March 2000, AGE concludes the following
• With the exception of the 10-foot soil sample collected from B-2, soil does not appear to be
significantly impacted where sampled
• First encountered ground water is approximately 10-15 feet bsg
• Ground water is impacted on the site by TPH-g, and BTEX compounds
iLaboratory and field data suggest that TPH-g impacted ground water is present in the area
containing all four probe borings
1 • The State of California drinking water standards, adopted under the Safe Drinking Water
Act, have established maximum contaminant levels (MCLS) for benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and xylenes at 1 ug/l, 150 µg/1, 700 ,ug/l and 1,750 µg/l, respectively
Concentrations of dissolved benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes detected in the
grab ground water samples collected from B-1 were above selected MCLs Concentrations
of dissolved benzene and toluene detected in the grab ground water samples collected from
B-2 were above selected MCLs
• No fuel oxygenating compounds were detected in any of the soil and ground water samples
analyzed
• The horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water has not
been delineated in any direction
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE recommends
• Additional assessment of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water to define its horizontal and
vertical extent
• Installation of ground water monitoring wells to provide repeatable ground water sampling
locations, determine site-specific ground water flow direction and gradient, and to document
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
