KAM &
i
The analytical results for samples from Pit B indicate limited
amounts of petroleum hydrocarbon compounds are present in the
soils. However, per the LUFT manual guidelines, the concentrations
remaining are sufficiently low as to not present further concern
given the site specific characteristics. Therefore, it is
Z:a recommended that this area also be closed.
The stockpiled soils adjacent to the two pits contain limited
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon compounds. It is recom-
mended that a land spreading/aeration permit for these stockpiles
be obtained from the County Air Pollution Control District and the
soils be aerated in compliance with the San Joaquin county Public
= Health.. Services' recommendations. Aeration will remove the
majority of the petroleum hydrocarbon compounds remaining in the
soils. To ensure proper aeration, 60 to 90 days should be allowed.
rr At the end of this time, these soils, mixed with approximately 10%--
15% organic matter, may be utilized to refill the pits. TPH
s fractions remaining after aeration will eventually be degraded by
natural occurring microbes.
pat
L
ka
r
- 5 -
