Groundwater Sampling
The monitoring well will be sampled. A brief summary of the procedures follows: The
borehole will be advanced into the aquifer and temporally cased. The water entering
the borehole will be sampled using a clean bailer, and carefully poured into the
appropriate laboratory prepared container with minimum cavitation. The
monitoring well will be purged using calculated well volumes based upon the depth to
water in each casing. Depth to groundwater measurements will be made to the
nearest one-one hundredth of one foot, and also checked for the presence of separate
phase product. As each purge volume is removed, measurement of pH, electrical
conductivity and temperature will be taken until these parameters stabilize, which is
interpreted to be aquifer water entering the casing. The sample will be carefully
collected with a clean bailer and poured into the appropriate laboratory prepared
container with minimum cavitation.
Each water sample be labeled, logged onto a chain-of-custody form, and placed in a
chilled ice chest. Upon completion of well sampling, the well will be closed and
locked.
Chemical Analysis and Results
One groundwater sample will be analyzed at a state certified analytical laboratory.
Selected samples were tested for the following; Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as
Gasoline (TPHG) and Benzene (B), Toluene (T), Ethylbenzene (E), Eylene (X) using EPA
Methods 3510/8015 and 8020.
Report
A report of the well replacement will be prepared. This report will include all
observations and chemical data from soil and water removal and disposal. Exploratory
boring log, well construction detail, development, sampling and a-brief discussion of
the excavation results and soil and groundwater disposal and well installation will be
provided.
p CEO
Please call if you have any questions.
Cl- N2 12fi2
Sincerely, r 1 n CERTIFIED
ENGINEERING
GE4LDGlST
ohn' Lynch Christopher M.
