The approval of this work plan will be limited to the construction of one (1) on-
site and two off-site wells on Connie Avenue, nothing more.
Once the analytical results are submitted from sampling during well construction and tank/product line
removal,PHS/EHD staff will be better able to comment on reductions In sampling frequencies based on the
information gleaned from these activities.
After consultation with staff at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB),it has
been determined that screen intervals of greater than 20 feet can cause dilution of the contaminates. Careful
placement of a 20 foot screen interval will be extremely important but is the recommended method of
installation rather than the 35 foot of screen proposed in your work plan.
PHS/EHD is currently holding your check for $178.00 ($89.00 X 2) but still needs two (2) permit
applications. One permit is needed for the on-site well and another for the two (2) off-site wells. In
addition, PHS/EHD will need a copy of the encroachment permit, which is required to drill on county
property. Once these items are received, the permits can be issued and you will be notified to schedule your
contractors.
If you have any further questions, contact Steven Schneider, REHS, of my staff at (209)468-3441.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Ofkotulla,
Laurie A RENS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
LAC/SS:nr
c: CVRWQCB
c: Groundwater Technology, Inc. - Kenneth P.
