October 23, 1990
4 a
THE
San Joaquin County SOUTHLAND
Local Health District CORPORATIONa
c/o Ms, ,
/ Laurie Cotulla
1601 E. Hazelton Ave. Ev
ocr
Stockton, Ca 95201 141pR0M3
Re: Your correspondence of October 15
regarding location #20680 in Stockton Cab
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
In response to your request that Southland "proceed with the
installation of a well or wells on Connie Avenue" , a couple
of issues should be first resolved. They are listed as fol-
lows:
1) You are aware of the pending litigation being raised
by the neighboring property owners (Rochas) regard-
ing access to and closure of monitor wells on their
property. We rather optimistically thought that
either the RWQCB or your office would intercede in
resolving this issue, but unfortunately it has not
happened.
Therefore, we request that we be granted approval to
close all monitor wells on their property and dis-
continue further sampling of their domestic well.
2) You indicate that an additional well (s) is desired
on Connie Avenue. In an effort to save time, we
request that you identify the location in which you
desire that this well (s) be placed. Furthermore, we
believe it reasonable to request that if this
well (s) is found to be ND, that we henceforth be
allowed to discontinue all future sampling of
domestic wells on the properties located on the far
side of Connie.
We shall await your response to these requests before begin-
ning with preparation of a work plan. In the meantime, our
VES continues to successfully operate with vapor concentra-
tions anticipated in the very near future to be single digit.
Sincerel , •
Hal Miller cc: Walt Lubcke
Environmental Services Manager Gordon Boggs
SOUTHLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES/ LOCATION 2987
5820 STONERIDGE MALL ROAD/SUITE 310/P.O.
