" 7-Eleven/Stockton
May, 1989 19
FUTURE WORK
In addition to the continuing regularly scheduled operation
and maintenance of the remediation system and monitoring and
sampling of the groundwater, additional assessment and
remediation-system modifications are currently being implemented.
These activities include:
O Expansion of the existing soil-vent system by adding
four venting points utilizing existing monitoring wells
(MI-1, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4) and the addition of a
catalytic ScavengerR vapor-treatment system. .Prior to
installation of the system, a soil-vent test will be
conducted to determine the vacuum and flow rates
required for optimum performance.
O Additional site characterization involving the drilling
of two additional off-site monitoring wells, and two
_ sets of nested monitoring wells. Off-site monitoring
wells are to be located to the north and northwest in
order to investigate possible ungradient sources of
contamination on the north end of the project site.
The first monitoring well nest will be located
v._ downgradient from the underground storage tanks. The
second monitoring well nest will be installed on site,
near the underground tanks, aid in to determining the
vertical profile of the contaminant plume.
o The abandonment of MW-12 and replacement with a
functional monitoring well.
a Statistical analyses of laboratory data from domestic
wells to assess the risk of contamination.
CLOSURE
"i Groundwater Technology, Inc. is pleased to provide Southland
corporation with this project update report.
