REM
ix
7-Eleven/Stockton 16
November 1990
„ was on July 14, i99o. On August 24, 1990, the eyatem was found
to be non-operational, apparently due to probe failure. Repair
of the system to bring it bac!; to operational status is dependent
on whether approval is granted by the involved regulatory agencies
for Southland to discontinue operation, due to the low to non-
detectable concentrations which have been reported for the site.
Groundwater extracted from the pumping well was treated
through an air-stripping tower prior to discharge to the sanitary
sewer system. While the syatem was operating in July 1990,
laboratory analyses were conducted once on samples of the
influent-to and effluent-from the air-stripping tower to check
for the presence of concentrations of BTEX and TPH-as-gasoline in
order to verify compliance with the requirements imposed by the
Stockton Municipal Utilities District and the San Joaquin County
Air Pollution Control district. The concentrations of BTEX and
TPH-as-gasoline for the influent and effluent samples analyzed
during this period are tabulated in Appendix C, and the
laboratory results are included in Appendix D. The air-stripper
effluent sample for July 1990 contained a TPH-as-gasoline
concentration of 25 ppb, which is well below the allowable limit.
in addition to the monthly BTZX and TPH-as-gasoline analyses, the
air-stripping tower effluent is also sampled and analyzed once
each quarter for the presence of metals. Laboratory analyses are
performed for the presence of lead, cadmium, c:i,romium, copper,
nickel, and zinc. The sample analyses results indicate that the
levels of these metals in the discharge were below the specified
discharge limits. These results document that the air-stripping
system has not exceeded the permitted discharge requirements.
The results of the analyses for metals are tabulated on Table 3
and the laboratory results for BTEX and TPH-as-gasoline are
included in Appendix D.
. ' CROUhDN'ATEft
TECHNOLori,Ihc.
