This material can contain sulfur, bentonite clay, copper oxide, zinc oxide and <br /> magnesium oxide. Copper and Zinc containing materials can be hazardous waste for the toxicity characteristic. <br /> During the inspection, the site manager could not provide documentation describing the disposition of the recovery <br /> pile material. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste <br /> as specified in Title 22 California Code of Regulations (CCR). There are wastes that are listed as hazardous <br /> wastes. There are wastes that exhibit one or more of the hazardous waste characteristics: toxic, corrosive, reactive <br /> or ignitable. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Provide information to the SJC Environmental Health Department regarding the <br /> disposition of the recovery pile material.
