JAN Regarding: SU-87 -22 ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH FERMIT/SERVICES Dear Ron: As you are probably aware , a meeting was held at your office with Carl Borgman, Jeff Henning, and myself relative to the specifications for testing the water in the above project . Much to my surprise , I learned that the Health Departments ' position was "no project if the water criteria for a public water system could not be satisfied" . None of the individuals involved in the project , who were in attendance at the hearing process , recall any testimony or comments relating to such a position. The enclosed Health District letter dated October 21 , 1987 paragraph 3 and the Staff Report dated November 19 , 1987 page 10 item n, clearly sets out the specifications for testing individual private wells with no mention whatsoever about community water testing. Indeed the Staff Report , page 9 , item 1 sets out a fee schedule to be used for developing the community water system. Page 10 of the Staff Report item n (1)A requires tests from the available acquifer. Be advised that we have three operat- ing wells , recently installed on the subject project which are drawing water from the available acquifer. Test results from one of these wells has been submitted to your office and we hereby propose that any additional tests you may require be drawn from these already developed wells . These three wells have been sealed to a depth of one hundred feet and the location and well logs can be submitted to you upon request . Si erely , W. Dave mstead Enclosure : S. J.
