Mr. Bud Good
Page 2
5. Section 3 . 1. 4 (Soil Data and Evaluation) of the
Eroposal For Site Cleanup Confirmation attempts to
establish an evaluation method to determine attainment
or a cleanup objective of 10 ppm TPH-as-gasoline.
PHS/EHD does not and will not agree to the proposed:
* Averaging of all samples equal to or
less than 10 ppm of TPH-as-gasoline; nor
* No one sample greater than 100 ppm of TPH-as-
gasoline
Data collected during the cleanup confirmation activity
will be reported to PHS/EHD and CVRWQCB for review. As
a result of the review of this data, site special
conditions, and historical information, the two
agencies will collaborate to determine whether closure
can be issued or not.
6. No mention of remedial activities to address the hot
spot with 2100 ppm TPH-as-gasoline, discovered during
the piping/tank removal, was made. Please include a
proposal of what will be done with this aspect of the
site cleanup effort.
should you have any questions or concerns regarding these issues,
please contact Margaret Lagorio, REHS, who will be taking charge
of this site from Steven Schneider, REHS.
