(RESNA)
is writing to present a brief workscope to assess passible petroleum hydrocarbon contamination
in the former underground storage tank area at the above referenced site.
RESNA plansto supervise the installation of one soil boring in the former tank location. The
boring will be drilled to 35 feet total depth. Samples will be collected at five foot intervals from
10 feet to 35 feet, with a California modified split spoon sampler. The samples, will be
submitted to RESNA Analytical Laboratory in Fremont, California;(State certificate no. 1210).
Samples will be analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) by EPA methods 8020 and 8015, respectively. A
total of six soil samples will be collected for analysis. Soils will be logged for soil lithology by
a field geologist, and all site activities will be conducted in accordance with RESNA's Quality
Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)Plan (Attachment 1)and will follow the Site Specific Health
and Safety Plan (Attachment 2).
Subsequent to laboratory analysis RESNA will submit a letter report summarizing site activities
and analytical results. A recommendation for further site assessment or site closure, as
appropriate, will be submitted at this time.
As was also discussed, verification of the removal of all existing tanks and piping will, be
discussed in the summary report.
Ir121692.FNL
