10
7. SITE CONTROL AND COMMUNICATIONS
The 'buddy system" is encouraged on all Smith Technology work sites.
Site security will consist of traffic safety equipment and caution tape, or as practical.
Work zones will be marked with florescent or caution tape and traffic safety equipment, as
practical. The exclusion zone is typically within 15 feet of the rig; therefore, only essential
personnel will be allowed into the exclusion zone. When the exclusion zone, and local
topography allows, approximately 25 to 75 feet of space surrounding those exclusion zones
will be designated as contamination reduction zones. The support zone consists of all
9 PPo
other areas.
On-site communications will be conducted verbally. Off-site communications will be
conducted by telephone.
The specific signal for an emergency will be by verbal communication. The specific signal
for an evacuation will be by verbal communication. The evacuation assembly point will be
designated prior to work so that a head count may be taken:in the event of evacuation.
i
•
M~%4_26,Vnwe".[C)d22SMTH
