\ I
OFFICE OF IL
{ g} SHERIFF-CORONER
SIDE
cv COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN
P.O.Box 201058,Stockton,CA 95201
(209)468-4400
y
NOV 131991
COMMUNITY DEVELI ;; ,I . .
r=i, JEP%
Baxter Dunn PLANNING DIV :" ,y November 12, 1991
Sheriff-Coroner
TO: Chandler Martin
San Joaquin County
Community Development Department
FROM: Peter Burnett
San Joaquin County
Sheriff's Department
SUBJECT: TE-92-3
TE-92-4
TE-92-5
This development will have a minimal impact on the Sheriff's
ability to continue to provide the present level of service.
However, continued growth of this nature will require the
establishment of a funding mechanism to provide for additional
Sheriff's resources as population increases.
It has been the trend that even as -population grows, Sheriff's
resources have been curtailed. Therefore, it is important to
employ proven crime prevention techniques in the design of these
buildings and in the operation of the business when it opens.
Construction should mee the California Model Building Security
Ordinance as developed by the California Crime Prevention Officers
Association.
During construction all building tools, materials and storage
buildings should be located within a fenced area that is kept
locked during hours when construction is not taking place. The
area should be lighted at night.
Consider installing both an audible alarm and an alarm that is
monitored at a central location. Feel free to call our Crime
Prevention Unit at 468-4149 for further information.
