FINDINGS samples collected during <br /> excavation procedures <br /> A discussion <br /> of laboratory <br /> total and <br /> field results <br /> as son hydrocarbons removed is detailed below <br /> 3 1 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> Thirty-two soil samples (EXI through EX7, EXE8 through EXE23 and FLR-01 through FLR-08) <br /> were collected from the sidewalls and floor of the former UST excavation In addition, one <br /> composite soil sample was analyzed from the soil stockpile generated during excavation activities <br /> TPH-g was detected in 28 of the 33 soil samples at concentrations ranging from 14 milligrams per <br /> kilogram (mg/kg) in soil sample EXE-21 to 2,200 mg/kg(EXE-20) TPH-d was detected in 14 of <br /> the 33 soil samples at concentrations ranging from 98 mg/kg (EXE15) to 1,300 mg/kg (FI-R-02) <br /> BTEX constituents were detected in 26 soil samples at concentrations as high as 25 mg/kg benzene <br /> (EXE-18),72 mg/kg toluene(EXE-17),62 mg/kg(EXE-17)and 260 mg/kg xylenes(EXE-17) Fuel <br /> additives and lead were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in any of the samples <br /> . analyzed Tables 1 and 2 contain a summary of excavation analytical results The laboratory reports <br /> (CTEL Laboratory IDs 0305-163-1, 0305-178-1 through 0305-178-7, 0306-028-1 through <br /> 0306-028-7 and 0306-030-1 through 0306-030-13),quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC) <br /> report and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix D <br /> 32 MASSNOLUME CALCULATIONS <br /> The mass of petroleum hydrocarbons removed during excavation activities and the mass of <br /> remaining hydrocarbons was determined based on analytical results of soil samples collected during <br /> the excavation and from soil borings advanced during previous site assessment activities <br /> 3 2 l Mass of Petroleum Hydrocarbons Removed <br /> The mass of petroleum hydrocarbons removed in soil was determined on the basis of the averaged <br /> concentrations of TPH-g in the soil samples collected from within the excavation area during <br /> excavation and previous site assessment activities AGE's calculations estimated that approximately <br /> 1913 lbs or 306 gal of gasoline were removed from the site during the soil over-excavation <br /> procedures The mass and volume calculations are presented in Appendix E <br /> Advanced GwEnv.mnmentar,Inc <br />
