We understand that the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department has indicated its willingness to close the City's Boyd Service Station
Site, pending the City's removal of four remaining monitoring wells. We also understand that the City of
Tracy recently requested that the Department permit the four monitoring wells located at the Boyd
Service Station to remain intact for future sampling related to historic petroleum pipelines in the area.
Chevron does not have an open case involving (and there is no current agency action regarding) the
historical crude oil operation of the Tidewater Associated Oil Company (TAOC) at the Boyd Service
Center Iocation. Therefore, there is no current need to conduct any sampling from the four wells Iocated
on your site, and no need to delay the destruction of the wells or the closure of the Boyd Service Station
Site.
Regards,
Mike Olipha t
Cc. Lisa M dins, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Senior REHS
.Mari Gilmore,AMSC Environment&Infrastructure, PG, Senior Geologist
