(Wright) and has the following comments.
The Report documents work conducted at the site in October and December 2008 when five
soil borings were installed to collect soil and grab groundwater samples, and February 2009
when four groundwater monitoring wells were installed and sampled. The report concludes
that petroleum contaminants appear to have leaked from the former underground storage
tank (UST) located onsite and that the shallow aquifer is contaminated to approximately
25 feet below surface grade. Wright recommends initiation of routine groundwater monitoring
and sampling, and submittal of quarterly reports of the groundwater monitoring program to
the EHD and to GeoTracker.
The EHD agrees with the recommendation to initiate routine groundwater monitoring and
sampling. The wells have not been sampled since first quarter 2009. You are directed to
have the wells sampled again by the end of third quarter 2009 (September 30, 2009); a
report of findings must be submitted within sixty days following completion of the fieldwork.
In correspondence dated July 1, 2009 you were notified that once four quarters of monitoring
and sampling have been completed the frequency will change to semi-annual.
If you have any questions please contact Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337 or by email at
iduncan@sjcehd.com.
Sincerely,
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Margare Lagorio, REHS
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist Program Coordinator
cc: James Barton, CVRWQCB, 11020 Sun Center Drive #200 Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
John Lynch, Wright Environmental, 2395 East Pescadero Avenue, Tracy CA 95304
