PHS/EHD has a contract with California State Water
Resources Control Board to conduct an underground storage tank corrective action program.
Section 25297.1(b) Chapter 6.7 of the Health and Safety Code provides PHS/EHD the authority
to require an investigation and cleanup of unauthorized releases. The above referenced site was
placed in the PHS/EHD Local Oversight Program (LOP) in January 1991.
There is groundwater and soil contamination at this facility. Water samples taken from MW#8
indicates off site contamination north of your parcel. A Corrective Action Plan to mitigate soil
and groundwater contamination on Arco's property was reviewed and approved by this office on
April 6, 1995. This proposal has gone through public participation and is now your Final
Remediation Plan for on site cleanup. Further assessment must be conducted to delineate the
extent of contamination in the area of MW#8 and Corrective Action implemented as soon as
possible.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll at (209)468-3442.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
CLQ- T, „ t
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Diane M.
