WORD PLAN FOR INSTALLATION OF
REINIEDIATION WELLS
ARCO STATION 2093, TRACY, CALIFORNIA
This work plan was prepared for ARCO Products Company (ARCO) for continuing
remediation at ARCO Station 2093, located at 3425 Tracy Boulevard, Tracy, California. The
work plan will be submitted to ARCO before commencing work, and all necessary permits will
be acquired from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (County). Work will
commence within 30 days upon approval of this-work plan by the County.
This work plan describes the methods to be used in the field during borehole drilling and
well installation. The work plan also presents a quality assurance and quality control plan for
sample collection, handling, and decontamination procedures in the field.
PURPOSE
This work plan presents the details for installing three air sparge wells, seven dual
completion soil vapor extraction/air sparge wells (VES), and one dual completion groundwater
monitoring/air sparge well. The purpose of installing these wells is to remediate hydrocarbon-
affected soil and groundwater beneath the site. The proposed well locations are shown on
Figure 1.
INSTALLATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF AIR SPARGING WELLS
The wells will be drilled by Turner Explorations of Rancho Cordova, California
(California C-57 License Number 602720), using a truck-mounted, hollow-stem auger drilling
rig equipped with 8- or 10-inch-diameter augers. Each borehole will be advanced to
approximately 30 feet below ground surface (bgs). One or two soil samples for laboratory
analysis will be collected from each of the "VES" boreholes and borehole S-2. Brown and
Caldwell's (BC's) Standard drilling procedures are described in Appendix A. Borehole cuttings
will be temporarily placed on plastic sheeting and covered with plastic. The disposal of these
cuttings is the responsibility of ARCO.
Underground Service Alert will be notified by telephone at least 48 hours prior to
commencement of work,
This report was prepared in accordance with the standards of the environmental consulting industry at the time it was
prepared. It should not be relied upon by parties other than those for whom it was prepared, and then only to the extent
of the scope of wont which was authorized. This report does not guarantee that no additional environmental
contamination beyond that described in this report exists at the site.
75245REPORTSIWOR K PLN
