PREFIELD ACTIVITIES Following approval of this workplan by the SJCPHS/EHD, all drilling permits will be obtained This will occur prior to any drilling operations at the site In addition, a site Health and Safety Plan will be prepared to establish the required level of protection ' and safety procedures to be used at the site This plan will be prepared to accordance with Mittelhauser Corporate Health and Safety procedures 32 TASK 2- SOIL BORINGS BOREHOLE LOCATION AND DEPTH Four soil borings are planned to complete this investigation The locations of these borings are shown on Figure 2 One of the four soil borings, ACS-1 , will be located close to the location of former sample point SW-7. Boring ACS-2 will be located close to the location of former sample point PL-7 in order to determine the vertical extent ' of elevated gasoline constituents at that location The two remaining borings, ACS-3 and ACS-4, will be installed on the eastern side of the former Unocal station (known as the "vacant lot") approximately adjacent to the former location of the USTs and outside the perimeter of the backf tiled excavation. All of the borings will be advanced ' and sampled to an approximate depth of 10 feet below ground surface (bgs) 3.2.1 Soil Borings - Logging and Sampling All borings will be logged by a field geologist under the direction of a California Registered Geologist. Boring logs will be prepared using the Unified Soil ' Classification Samples will be retrieved from depths of 5 and 10 feet bgs if groundwater conditions permit.
