Final Remedial Plan 6 September 1992
3788 Tracy Boulevard Rev. : D1
Tracy, California P1745R005.WP
contamination. If such contamination is encountered, the soil will
' be removed until it appears clean. Samples will then be collected
for laboratory analysis at 20-foot intervals.
' D. Soil-Sampling Procedures
' Soil samples will be collected by driving a 2" diameter
by 6" long brass tube into the sidewall or floor locations to be
sampled. Sampling will also be conducted from the backhoe bucket
by driving a brass tube into the soils recovered in the bucket.
The filled tube will be covered with Teflon foil, capped, labelled,
placed in a zip-lock bag, and placed on ice for delivery to a
' State-certified analytical laboratory. Samples will be delivered
under chain-of-custody control.
An alternate method for laboratory analysis, should the
facilities be available, will be by a mobile laboratory brought
' onsite during the sampling days.
' Results of the laboratory analyses will determine if
soil-quality standards have been met.
IE. Groundwater Treatment
Data to date indicate that a minimal amount of
hydrocarbons have reached the groundwater table immediately
underlying the USTs. We anticipate that this area is entirely
within the area planned for soil excavation and that removal of
soil will correct the problem.
Immediately after the pit has been excavated to its
required dimensions, to a depth just under the top of the water
