Final Remedial Plan 8 September 1992
3788 Tracy Boulevard Rev. : D1
' Tracy, California P1745R005 .WP
C. Bioremediation
I
Bioremediation of the soil, stimulating hydrocarbon-
consuming bacteria, is an effective method of addressing both oil
and gasoline contamination in suitable soil. The cost of
' bioremediation is approximately the same as for the proposed method
of hauling and disposing at a Class II landfill. The drawbacks of
' this plan are the uncertainty that the method would be successful
in this nutrient-poor soil. Possibly in excess of one year would
be required for the process, and uncertainty as to the suitability
' of the project within city limits.
ITIME SCHEDULE
Work described in this Draft Final Remedial Plan is
' planned to commence approximately the week of October 19 and to
proceed according to the following schedule.
' Days listed are working days and do not include weekends,
holidays, or unavoidable stoppages. Working hours will be from
I7: 30 a.m. until 5: 00 p.m. unless shorter because of darkness.
Time
Period Action Taken
I Days 1-5 Demolish above-surface structures; remove waste
materials.
Day 6 Remove soil from top of tanks; prepare for tank
' removal.
Day 7 Remove underground storage tanks and associated
piping.
Days 8-10 Over-excavate pits to remove hydrocarbon-bearing
soil.
I
