V
From: Frank Goldman fmailto:frank goldman@ymail com]
Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2014 3:37 PM
To: Angelica Sandoval Marin [EHj
Cc: tracytruckstopayahoo com
Subject: SITE CLOSURE SUMMARY REPORT FOR the Tracy Truck Stop, 3940 N. Tracy Boulevard, Tracy, CA
Hi Angelica,
The attached technical report is a response to your letter dated April 03,
2014.
After a thorough evaluation of site conditions, it is my professional opinion
that no further site assessment is necessary as the contamination is only
diesel; which is not toxic or carcinogenic.
In addition, it appears that there are two separate aquifers; a shallow one
at a depth of 14 to 15 feet bgs and a deeper aquifer which is used for
water supply.
It also appears that these two aquifer are not connected, making
contamination of the deeper groundwater by the diesel dispenser leak very
unlikely.
Regardless, it is even more unlikely that the discharge from this diesel
dispenser would enter a water supply well.
It looks like the water supply wells in the area are too far away from the
site for a diesel plume of this size to reach them. In addition, it appears
that most, if not all, water supply wells in the area have 50 foot seals.
In any case, I would like to know if you will reconsider your previous denial
of closure.
Kindest regards,
Frank Goldman, CHG
707 906 9048 cell
3
