Analytical results of the grab ground water samples collected from soil borings P-2,
3, and 4 in October 2001 were non-detect for methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE), and from P-
1 were 2.7 micrograms per liter (µg/L) of MTBE. Analytical results of the groundwater
sample from Monitoring Well #3 (NfW-3)were 180 µg/L and from MW-2 were 35µg/L of
MTBE. Analytical results of the groundwater sample collected from domestic well were }
non-detect for MTBE.
The concentration of MTBE in MW-3 has continued to rise since March 2001,and the
lateral extent of the MTBE groundwater plume remains undefined to the west of MW-2 and
north of MW-3. Submit a work plan that will define the lateral extent of the contamination
plume to EHD by April 30, 2002. EHD also recommends using Appendix B of the Tri-
Regional Board Staff Recommendations to determine that all data for site closure has been
obtained and compiled as necessary. s
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at(209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran, REHS,Director
Environmental Health Department
Jeffrey Wong , Senior REHS Margaret agotio,REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region—Marty Hartzell
c: Advanced GeoEnvironmental-Paul Dotsun
l
