F'—bi k-•aj
1., _' MIN—MM",MIM'all "M
e
San Joaquin Local Health District Re: Soil Remediation Work Plan
Site: 1 W. Turner Road
December 9, 1488_- Page 2 of 2__ Lodi, CA
5. Laboratory that will collect soil samples: Canonie Environmental (209) 983-1340
A signed "Release of Information Authorization" is attached.
6. Remediation Steps: We propose to enlarge the excavation to approximately 75' wide
x 100' long x 40' deep -first by removing approximately 20 feet of overlay of clean
soil, approx. 2,780 cubic yards, and stockpiling it on site. Then we shall excavate
in three (3) foot drops downward and outward toward the monitoring wells until no
more contamination is visible and no odor is present.
This excavated soil will be stockpiled on site an plastic and covered. It is
anticipated that excavating will remove all contaminated soil from, in and around
the excavated area.
We will call your office to set a date for sampling, giving at least 48 hours
notice.
We plan to take one bottom sample from the center of the excavated area and one
sample from each of the side walls. We will request a 24 hour turnaround on these
samples. There will be a.maximum of 5,555`cubic-yards`of soil excavated and this
will be tested at a rate of 2 samples per 50 cubic yards. We will be prepared to
take as many samples as the health District deems necessary. We will test for BTX & E
and TEPH.
Contaminated soil is to be treated on site at a later date by bio-rtnediation
and aeration. Aeration would be under permits, guidelines, and direction of the
San Joaugin County Air Pollution Department.
7. Timing: Sampling could be scheduled within 48 hours following your review of this
work plan. The sample analysis from the hole and side walls should be ready for your
review within 48 hours, and the analysis from the stockpile samples should be ready
within two weeks, after they have been taken.
We are willing to pay any overtime costs to expedite review of this work plan
as we wish to conclude this matter this month.
