!11 id it
Mai 23_ 1989__Page 4 of-5— Re: 1 W. Tu,-ner Road, Lodi, CA r
The monitoring and sample wells installed by G.T.I. all showed no sign of ground-
water contamination. Water samples can also be taken from the 3 idle industrial
wells before they are permanently abandoned. The owners wish to cooperate in
every manner necessary to bring this clean up to an expedient end.
4. Remediation Steps: Pians for bioremediation by use of controlled bacteria are now
in the process of being finalized in dealing with the contamination on site. Since
the only contaminates are diesel fuel and heavy bunker oil, this methodology will
work for total soil cleanup. The soil will be placed approximately 10 to 12 inches
thick on the existing concrete slab and fertilized with ammonium nitrate. The soil
will be kept moist by using soaker hoses placed at regular intervals to insure max-
imum bacteria growth. Bacteria will then be introduced, through this watering system.
The soil will be mixed by using a disc plow and turned over at regular intervals.
_. Samples will be taken for analysis by Canonie Environmental on a monthly basis and
copies wi,l be made available to SJLHD. After the contaminated soil has been rendered
"non-detectable" for all constituents of petroleum hydrocarbons, the soil will be used
on site.
5. Laboratory that will collect samples: Canonie Environmental , Stockton, CA 983.1340.
A signed "Release of Information Authorization" is attached.
ENCLOSURES
Reference A: Original tank removal, includes:
Tank Removal Application dated December 23, 1986
Removal Application Approval dated January 16, 1987
Fire Permit dated January 22, 1987
Inspection Report dated January 23, 1987
Soil Sample Reports dated February 11 , 1987
— Reference• B: Preliminary Report Subsurface Hydrocarbon Investigation dated T-_ - --
March 16, 1988
Reference CcApplication for.Permit for Monitoring Wells dated March 17,1988
